Each Tuesday, and sometimes on Wednesdays, candidates from our 10-month Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program are in the field with our community partners to work with school-aged children.
The aim of our fall fieldwork course—Alternative Settings in Art Education—is for MAT candidates to:
- Develop original lessons that engage learners by exploring materials skills/technique and making connections to the art world.
- Create safe and inspiring learning environments.
- Practice, reflect, and refine instruction through peer and professor feedback.
Starting this term, we are thrilled to include the local Boys & Girls Club as one of our MAT community partners. We can’t wait to continue working with the wonderful team there!
