Prior to joining Maine College of Art & Design, Adams served in a variety of roles in non-profits and higher education institutions including as an executive director, dean of students and enrollment management, and Title IX coordinator.
Adams is an educator focused on supporting students as they pursue their academic, creative, and life long goals. Adams believes that we should continuously strive to build open, safe learning environments where all students have an opportunity to thrive--both in and out of the classroom--ensuring that students have space to express different ideas, explore their passions, and grow through all of their experiences here at Maine College of Art & Design.
Adams graduated from Arkansas State University and holds an M.A. from Ball State University, as well as an Ed.D., from Northeastern University. His dissertation work focused on gay males and how they make meaning of their relationship with religion while developing their voice.
