Kiana/Ki Thayer '20 (they/she) graduated with honors from Maine College of Art & Design in 2020 with a BFA in Graphic Design and a focus in publication and object design. Their practice is centered around play and discovery, endlessly searching for new ways to combine their design knowledge with fine art practices. Often exploring themes of object-hood, time, beauty, and humor. They aim to create a space for the spectator to experience curiosity—ultimately affording the viewer the autonomy to create the experience they are receiving, becoming a collaborator with the work. But at the end of the day, they mostly make books and are haunted by the question What is a book, what could a book be?
