Making Migration Visible: Traces, Tracks & Pathways featured artist Yu-Wen Wu will discuss her artwork in the galleries, describing the research processes and community practices that contribute to her work. Following her talk, the artist will lead a workshop in conjunction with her Leavings/Belongings series. Leavings/Belongings is comprised of multitudes of cloth wrapped bundles representing all that is left behind– home, family, possessions and what may be carried in migration–survival, hope, dreams. In the tradition of gathering to make things and tell stories, this workshop invites participation in the making of bundles and the sharing of stories.
This event will be hosted in the Institute of Contemporary Art at MECA&D.
