An exhibition, featuring seven artists whose work is impacted by movement.
Journeys will be opening in the Artists at Work Gallery, at Maine College of Art & Design, on Saturday, November 12th, and will be running through November 30th.
Movement is essential to knowing the world in which we exist; to feel the shape of the earth and the distance that defines us. This holds true today, despite our culture, which encourages an ever more insular and sedentary lifestyle. In this way, travel is rebellion.
The exhibition will create a montage experience, featuring a diverse range of work including installation, ceramic, sculpture and print. Much of the work is interactive. There will be three evenings of events in the space over the course of the exhibition.
Featuring work from up and coming artists: Anna Welch, Elizabeth Conlin, Jo Hatlevig, Emma Wolfson, Sara Inacio, Ssengam Niloc, Ellanor Milkgren
