All degree-holding alumni with printmaking experience are invited to apply to participate in the Annual Alumni Print Session on October 7, 8, and 9 at Maine College of Art & Design. The event starts with dinner on Friday evening and continues on Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 5pm in the printmaking studios at MECA&D. Participants work in relationship to a theme. This year's Visiting Artist is Printmaking alum Emmeline Solomon '13 and the theme is Margins and Marginalia.
Artists create 20 portfolios containing 11 prints each, including one master print by each participating artist. Several students and past participants will be on hand to provide studio assistance. At the end of the session each artist will receive one of the portfolios.
Participants should come with an idea or image for your print already worked out, in order to successfully complete 20 prints within the two printing days.
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the participant list is filled. There is a $50 participation fee. This includes the cost of materials, Friday night dinner, brunch on Saturday and Sunday and a portfolio from the session.
