"Living in Maine, I am continually inspired by the abundance of shapes, colors and light along the beautiful ever changing beaches and marshes of the seacoast and rural areas," MECA&D alum Colleen Forde tells the SeacoastOnline. "The natural beauty available here is one of the primary reasons I have made this place my home."

It was this love of Maine and its scenery that lead her to the Maine College of Art & Design in 1994 and eventually to the creation of her latest exhibit "The Color of Light," a collection that explores the Maine beaches, marshes, and rural areas. This show is on view at the gallery space at The Clown through Aug. 11.
