Maine College of Art & Design is pleased to present & Magazine, its reimagined and redesigned, biannual publication. Created as the main project for the College’s inaugural & Lab students Caroline Kouba ’22, Annabelle Richardson ’22, and Ben Warndahl ’22, the 2021 Fall/Winter issue is dedicated to celebrating noteworthy work and successes from students, faculty, staff, and the broader MECA&D community.
“MECA&D’s new creative identity centers around the ampersand ‘&’ — the new name of this magazine and a symbol of the College’s commitment to all artists and designers, placing the value of inclusivity at the forefront of our work,” explains President Laura Freid. “In this issue, you will find articles about our vision for the future, about the students who are working together in the ‘& Lab’ design lab to define it, and the talented alumni whose new work and publications are in the vanguard of their fields.”
From interviews with the authors of Todd Webb in Africa: Outside the Frame and break-through generative artist Joshua Davis to thought pieces from Andres Gonzalez and Margret Brownlee, this represents the College’s most ambitious magazine to date. We hope you enjoy it!
