Celebrate entrepreneurship, cultivate creativity, and drive high-impact innovation at Maine Startup & Create Week, June 19-23, 2017.
At Maine College of Art & Design, the art of creative entrepreneurship is one of our core values. We provide each student the necessary professional skills to transform aspirations and values into a creative practice.
Maine Startup & Create Week brings a week of learning, interviews with leaders, hands-on workshops, and social events all focused on creative entrepreneurship and community leadership.
Maine Startup and Create Week, June 19–23, is an annual conference designed to celebrate entrepreneurship, cultivate creativity and inspire high-impact innovation. The goal of the conference is to help showcase the startup ecosystem in Maine, as well as connect and support the entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, resource providers and advocates that drive it. Now in our fourth year, it’s true that Maine Startup and Create Week is still a startup itself. We’re completely volunteer run, we still sweat to make it happen (15,000+ volunteer hours) and much like the startups who attend the conference, we’re still figuring things out. To that end, our theme this year is “Solve Better”.
Panels and keynotes will highlight entrepreneurial and innovative approaches to addressing and solving elements of today’s meaningful problems. Drawing from diverse backgrounds, speakers will thoughtfully address a problem in need of a solution and exemplify how to solve it better.
New to MSCW this year is REAL Day. REAL stands for Real Experiences and Applied Learning. The entire day will be dedicated to creating a number of experiential learning opportunities for attendees that will get people out of their seats and solving problems.
