Provides indexes to 459 art journals published from 1984 to the present. Art FullText, provides abstracts for articles published 1994 to the present, and provides full-text coverage of 130 journals published 1997 to the present.
Oxford Art Online*
Oxford Art Online is the foremost collection of online scholarly resources, including Grove Art Online, an art encyclopedia that covers encompasses all aspects of visual culture and features articles about topics as varied as Fauvism and Frida Kahlo, bibliographies for further research, and thousands of searchable images made available through Oxfords partnerships with museums, galleries, and other outstanding arts organizations. Updated and reviewed continually. Other resources in this database include the Benezit Dictionary of Artists, the Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms, the Encyclopedia of Aesthetics and the Oxford Companion to Western Art.
Art Bibliographies Modern*
Contains abstracts of journal articles, books, essays, catalogs, PhD dissertations, and exhibition reviews on all forms of modern and contemporary art. Coverage: 1974 to present.
ARTstor is a digital resource that contains over 1,600,000 images of works of art. ARTstor may be used for non-commercial, educational and scholarly purposes only. Maine College of Art students, faculty and staff must register on campus for access to the full suite of ARTstor tools using their MECA email account. Use by those unaffiliated with Maine College of Art is restricted to searching and browsing the collection.
Provides records and abstracts for books, articles, news items, and reviews published in design and applied arts periodicals from 1973 onwards.
Consists of three databases. Design Abstracts Retrospective (DAR) and contains 50,000 records of about 70 design and design-related journals dating from 1903 to 1986. DesignPROFILES (DP) has 20,000 records and is the most comprehensive directory of design and designers. ReVIEW is being developed to contain digitised full-text versions of 19th and early 20th century decorative and fine arts journals. It currently contains four journals: The Studio (London),vols. 1-50, 1893-1910;Deutsche Kunst und Dekoration, vols. 1-27, 1897-1911; Art et Décoration, vols.1-28, 1897-1910; and The Poster, vols.1-6, 1898-1901.
