Financial Aid

MECA&D is committed to making our exceptional educational experience affordable. Welcoming students of all income levels is at the heart of who we are. When financial aid is factored in, many students are surprised to find that the cost of attending MECA&D is comparable to or less than that of a state school.

Financial aid programs and services assist students and families with paying for college. Students at MECA&D receive more than $3 million annually in the form of scholarships, grants, loans, and job opportunities. The College provides over $1.3 million directly to support the aid programs available to students.

MECA&D requires only one application to apply for financial aid, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To apply, please visit FAFSA's website and use Maine College of Art & Design’s Federal School Code 011673. Prior to completing the FAFSA the student and one parent (if the student is considered dependent) will need to apply for their own FSA ID which is used to electronically sign legally binding documents. In order to create your own FSA ID please click here.

If you are not applying for financial aid, you need to complete and return the FAFSA Waiver Form

The Financial Aid Office is committed to ensuring that all students looking to receive an exceptional education here at MECA&D are able to fulfill their mission. We are available to assist students and parents through the entire financial aid process. Please contact us at finaid@meca.edu, by phone at 1.800.639.4808 ext. 5074, or by fax at 207.772.5069.

Refund Policy

Students who withdraw from the college during a semester may be eligible for a refund. A refund is a reduction in the original tuition and housing charges, rather than a portion of the amount already paid to the college. The withdrawal date is established by the receipt of a written withdrawal notice by the Registrar's Office.
