CONJURING: 25 Years at the ICA at Maine College of Art & Design is an archival exhibition, reflecting on our past and looking forward, celebrating the artists and curators who have come through the ICA since its beginning in 1997. At its heart, the exhibition is a community project, celebrating a quarter of a century of work and recognizing the amazing community of people who have exhibited, curated, and flowed through the ICA. The exhibition includes an archive of past exhibitions, interviews, ICA publications, posters, news coverage, and more.

EVENTS

Please join us to celebrate CONJURING: 25 Years at the Institute of Contemporary Art with a catalog launch event on Thursday, September 15, 4-5:30PM.

Designed by Graphic Design faculty Margo Halverson and Charles Melcher of Alice Design, the 70-page, full-color, limited edition catalog contains interviews with past directors, a center insert listing publications, a timeline of exhibitions, and 138 photographs documenting exhibitions over the last 25 years. Designed with 17 innovative gate folds and saddle stitched, the catalog celebrates a quarter-century of work and recognizes the amazing community of people who have exhibited in, curated, and activated the ICA.

Generous support for the exhibition catalog was provided through the Jeremy Moser and Laura Kittle Fund and through a grant from the Margaret Burnham Charitable Trust.
