Mitchell Rasor

Mitchell Rasor maps the cultural and ecological patterns shaping our various perceptions of place. The findings of this research inform his work across a range of disciplines including writing, landscape architecture, urbanism, music, and environmental art. Mitchell is the Principal of MRLD Landscape Architecture + Urbanism, an interdisciplinary studio based in Maine. His work – ranging from the films for a multi-media performance of John Cage’s Song Books at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw to the design of an amphitheatre for Louis Kahn’s First Unitarian Church of Rochester, NY – has been exhibited, released, built, and published throughout the United States and Europe. Mitchell has been honored by such organizations as MoMA PS1, the American Institute of Architects, the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Congress for the New Urbanism, and MaineBiz. Mitchell holds degrees from Oberlin College and the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
