MECA's Student Center in the Porteous Building offers a space for informal social gatherings, extracurricular activities, meetings, recreation and relaxation. The Living Room, the Student Affairs staff offices, the Registrar and the Friedman Student Gallery are all located here.

The Living Room, located in the student center, is the hub of activity for the campus. Every Tuesday is Soup and Bread day in the Living Room where students are treated to a free lunch of homemade soup and locally made artisan bread.
