Colleen Kinsella, Adjunct Instructor/Printmaking Studio Technician
Colleen Kinsella lives and works in South Portland, Maine. Her primary focus is split between printmaking and music. Her work has been published on over twenty-five album covers. She and her partner, who are known for their one-of-a-kind art and music production, began the group Big Blood and started Dontrustheruin Records out of their home. She recently completed a tour of France, Spain and Greece with her band Big Blood, and had a solo exhibition of prints and installation at S.I.X Dogs in Athens, Greece.
Kinsella’s work was selected for this year’s Biennial at the Portland Museum of Art and was featured on the catalogue cover. She has shown at the International Print Center in New York; Dean Johnson Galley, Indianapolis, IN; Seattle’s Wall of Sound, Columbia College, Chicago, IL; and the Southern Graphics Council, Chicago, IL.
She earned a BFA in Photography and Printmaking from Syracuse University and completed a residency in Book Arts from Haystack School of Arts and Crafts, in Deer Isle, ME. She has taught photography and printmaking for the past ten years at Portland Museum of Art, University of Southern Maine, Saco Transitional School, Sweetser, and Maine College of Art. She has been Printmaking Department Technician and Manager since 2000.
