Studio School
Studio School sessions take place twice during the academic year, once in the fall and again in the winter. Courses run for 10 weeks on Saturdays in both the morning and afternoon. Courses are designed for high school students grades 7-12 in a variety of disciplines from ceramics and photography to graphic design and filmmaking.
The Winter 2012 Studio School session begins Saturday, February 11, 2012 and runs for 10 weeks. Tuition is $145 for all courses (includes studio fee).
Studio School Workshops
Saturday School Workshops give high school students the opportunity to experience specialty workshops. Current offerings include glass blowing and beadmaking with a professional artist at an offsite studio.
About Full Tuition Scholarships
MECA offers scholarship opportunities to families that demonstrate a financial need and an interest in the arts. While other factors are taken into consideration, full tuition scholarships are assigned on the basis of financial need.
Deadline
The deadline for submitting a Full Tuition Scholarship Application [PDF] for the Winter 2012 session is January 30, 2012. Applications submitted after this date will not be considered.
Applying For a Scholarship
To be considered for a scholarship, all fields of the application must be completed and returned to the MECA along with the following materials:
- A parent or guardian’s recent tax form or pay stub
- A letter of support from a teacher, guidance counselor or mentor

Payment Procedures
Scholarships cover tuition only. Recipients are responsible for any supplies, fees or transportation associated with the class or workshop. If receiving a scholarship, any balances on an account must be paid at the time of registration.
Registration Procedures
Full Tuition Scholarship Applications are reviewed upon receipt. Students will be notified of scholarship status. Students who are awarded a full scholarship will receive confirmation of enrollment in class. Scholarship money and/or scholarship applications cannot be transferable from one session to another.
