Shannon Cote
Associate Director of Admissions

Shannon is a 2000 graduate of Hartford Art School, where she majored in painting. She has spent much of the last ten years working in admissions, first at Hartford Art School and later at Maine College of Art. Recently, Shannon was promoted to Associate Director of Admissions. She has been with MECA since August of 2006.


   

Amanda Barrett Cohen

Amanda is a 2003 graduate of The Corcoran College of Art and Design where she majored in Painting.  Prior to joining MECA in August 2010, Amanda was an art teacher in Brookline, MA.  Before that, she worked as the Coordinator of Visitor Services at The Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.  Presently, she is working on a series of oil paintings and trying to finish knitting an oft neglected sweater.


 
 

Steven Emmons

Steven is a 2003 graduate of the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque with a major in Latin American Studies and Spanish.  He moved to Portland, Maine in 2007 to attend the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies and loved Maine so much, he stayed. Steven  mentored a youth radio show in Albuquerque and produced radio documentaries on topics ranging from a group of ghost hunters to the AIDS Quilt to traveling to Cuba. He joined MECA in July, 2010.

 
 

Stacy Howe

Stacy is a 2010 graduate of Maine College of Art’s MFA Program. Of her artwork, Stacy writes:

“I render objects of material excess and polite society while tracing their links to barbarism and how we socially construct nature through etiquette.”    

Stacy has been with MECA, in her current position, since August of 2010 and comes to the College with extensive experience in higher education.


 

Megan Lloyd

Megan is a 2005 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and also earned a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate from the School for the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston in 2007. Originally from the West Coast, she fell in love with Portland during a visit and couldn't be happier since she made the move to Maine in 2009. Megan photographs based on the idea that "people intend to look a certain way, but always end up looking differently."
