Early College 2008

A Summer Visual Arts Experience for High School Students
July 13 to August 9, 2008

Early College at Maine College of Art is an intensive residency program for approximately 40 motivated high school students that offers participants a chance to experience what life is like in an art school, to form friendships within a community of other high school age artists, and to earn college credit.  The 4-week program allows you to choose one of five majors – ceramics, jewelry & metalsmithing, painting, photography, or sculpture – and to work with that medium in-depth, developing specialized skills and a familiarity with the tools and materials of your major. The curriculum also includes foundation classes in Drawing and Design that will help you hone your technical skills and strengthen your portfolio for admission to the country’s foremost schools of art and design.
