Maine College of Art collaborated with Heart of Biddeford to produce "Between Places and Spaces," an exhibition of artwork in vacant storefronts on Main Street in Biddeford. Students in the class "Design Topics: Installation for Designers," installed new media and graphic design work in nine storefronts of downtown Biddeford. The exhibition, from November 12 through December 3, focused on the revitalization of downtown Biddeford using the empty storefronts that line the streets of the downtown area. The exhibition included artwork which visually explored the town's economic history and unexamined life in the center of Biddeford. Participating artists were Blake Almstead, Carly Averill, Carroll Berg, Tim Brewster, Brandon Cates, Roger Cosseboom, Katie Linehan, Sarah Moore, and Katy Gerdel under the direction of Garrick Imatani, adjunct assistant professor of Graphic Design at MECA.
