Lynn Simmons '01
Lynn says about her work, "As a sculptor my process is intrinsically determined by the necessity to work with materials that are forgiving in their honesty and simplicity. Materials such as wood, metal, mud, charcoal, water and found objects continue to teach me a great deal about perseverance and happenstance. Working with video gives me the opportunity to use these lessons and materials in another dimension. It is my hope that in the recording of time, culture, nature and artmaking that new dialogues and questions will evolve about the world around us, and in us."

Lynn attended Ramapo College of New Jersey for environmental studies before earning a BFA in Sculpture with Honors at MECA. Her work has been shown at Three Fish Gallery in Portland, Deering Oaks Park and Maine College of Art.
