Tim lives in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and earned his BFA in Studio Art
from the University of New Hampshire, and his MFA from MECA. He is the recipient
of a variety of art awards, including an Artist Fellowship Award from the
New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, and an Artist Fellowship Award from
the Currier Museum of Art. In 2003, he was awarded a public commission from
the State of New Hampshire’s Governor’s Arts Award. His work
has been shown in public installations and in numerous solo and group exhibitions,
including ones at the New Hampshire Institute of Art, the Museu do Imagem
e Som in Brazil, The Button Factory in Portsmouth, and the Millbrook Sculpture
Park in Concord, New Hampshire. He has given visiting artist lectures throughout
New England and has served as a juror for many art competitions. He is the
founded and facilitator of the Portsmouth Public Library’s Artist Lecture
Series: Conversations with Artists, 2003. He also works as a freelance photographer
and has been an adjunct professor, studio manager and darkroom technician.
His work that is included in the Alumni/ae Exhibition 2003 was part of a
larger site-specific project placed throughout downtown Portsmouth. He says, "These
images are meant to celebrate our natural heritage. It is my belief that
if we pause to consider – to actually notice – the natural beauty
around us, we will cherish it."
