Rachel Chaya
Caron '99
Chaya is currently a Junior at the University of Southern Maine besides earning
her BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing at MECA. She is the owner of a fine
art photography and custom design jewelry company and has taught jewelry
classes for MECA’s Continuing Studies program. Her work has been shown
at Fibula Gallery in Portland, the N.W. Barrett Gallery in Portsmouth and
the 1997 and 1998 Maine Jeweler’s Association Annual Design Competitions.
Chaya writes, "I am a self-taught photographer who has always been inspired
to record my travels and the many people I encounter. . . In 2001, in Washington
D.C., I discovered the seductive and liberating world of motorcycles. I instantly
fell in love with these dual-wheeled machines, the people who ride them and
the culture that surrounds them."
